I’m following the soap Verbotene Liebe also known as Forbidden Love. It takes place in the German cities Düsseldorf and Köln deals the with lives of the aristocratic Von Lahnstein family and the middle-class Brandner family. I only understand about 10% of the dialoge, but I enjoy listening to the language and the visual clues help me pick up on the storyline and learn some new words.

This a great website to learn German. I find it helpful that you can do writing exercises and get corrections from native speakers. To get the most out of this website I would recommend studying full sentences as much as possible. You can also chat with members. You can use most of the features, but you have to pay for the full version.
